ALIMONY
Alimony, spousal support, support or maintenance, is generally defined as financial assistance given from one spouse to another after the marriage has dissolved.
Depending upon the circumstances of your marriage, you or your spouse may be eligible to collect alimony. Florida law does not discriminate with regard to who can receive alimony – either the husband or wife can be eligible to receive financial support from the other.
Our firm can work with you and determine your unique circumstances to determine what type of alimony could be involved in your divorce. Florida courts take many factors into account when determining what type of alimony should be awarded in a divorce including:
- Marriage duration
- Age,
physical and emotional condition of each party - Standard of living put forth in the marriage
- Financial resources of each spouse

Child Support
Child support is a function of statutory guidelines with a specific mathematical formula, unlike alimony determinations, which are based upon the “equities” in the case and the balancing of various factors. The courts may consider a number of factors to deviate from those guidelines, such as specific timesharing arrangements established for the benefit of the minor children.
We will analyze all appropriate factors and calculate the gross and net salaries based on pay stubs and average income over the course of the entire year. Monthly expenses and deductions will help us get an accurate picture of how much support a parent may pay and require.
